A little bit about me

I am based in the village of Comrie in Perthshire, Scotland with my amazingly supportive husband of over 25 years (wow where have the years gone!) and one elderly but very happy and contented ragdoll cat who lets us live in her wee cottage in exchange for us providing our devoted service to all her needs and of course providing her with endless cuddles.

I have two amazing and talented children (I'm a super proud step mum). I love hot and sunny summer days, growing flowers and vegetables, breathing in fresh sea breezes and feeding people!

I have been influenced by many people along the way, none more so than my parents who through the years have been incredibly creative sewers, cooks, woodworkers and still are, even although they are well into their 'senior' years.

Since my earliest memories I have loved creating handmade gifts and cards for family and friends (they know who they are - thank you) everyone). Through their support,  encouragement and kindness I have developed confidence to sell my work either at craft fairs, from my home studio or through this website.

My passion is to source materials that find themselves less loved or less useful than they were originally intended for (often cracked or chipped). I mainly work with china, slate and ceramic. I redesign and repurpose them into new items to bring them back to life and live on in a new guise.

My product range includes slate clocks and bud vases along with mosaic on slate wall hangings (for indoor and outdoor use).  I also create mosaics captured in shadow boxes for indoor interior use and a range of jewellery that comprises of necklaces, earrings, brooches, bangles and cufflinks using ceramic, china and slate.

I am always delighted to create specific items for clients, using their own china or ceramic that may hold special meaning.
